As a professional association, NACE aims to:

Promote childbirth education to other health professionals, expectant parents and the general public;

Provide educators with a body of peers, membership of which will offer professional status, credibility and identity;

Encourage and support research in the area of childbirth education;

Offer access to information on a wide range of childbirth and parenting issues;

Maintain a certification process for childbirth educators.
