Certified Trainer
Is granted to a member who meets the requirements of General and Advanced certification. Those applying for Trainer certification must be able to provide evidence to support their active participation in, or development/co-ordination of, training programs and evaluations.
Completed at least 24 hours training that you have provided per year, a minimum of which is 8 hours face-to-face;
Commitment to childbirth/parenting education, including participation in/adviser to or consultant to NACE committees at State or National level;
Participation in working parties involved with childbirth/parenting issues & education;
Works as consultant/adviser to other educators;
Works in a supervisory/mentor capacity of other educators;
Participates in peer development via seminars/workshops/conferences;
Contributes to Interaction and other relevant journals;
Co-ordinates and/or contributes to research into childbirth/parenting education.
Applicants must also provide details of two Certified NACE Trainers who will act as referees.
Completion of a short course in Childbirth Education &/or group facilitation skills that you have completed at some stage in your career
Obtained least 30 hours of Childbirth/Parenting Education programs that you have facilitated/taught over the past 2 years
Exercises ongoing professional development pertaining to childbirth/parenting education that you have attended in the past 2 years. This includes seminars, workshops, conferences etc. We require evidence of a minimum of 15 hours per year.
Completion of, or undertaking, certificate/postgraduate studies in Childbirth/ Parenting Education and/or Adult Education
Development of written resources for peers and clients
Development of teaching resources for groups
A contribution to peer development at team meetings or in-services or seminars /workshops/conferences, co-facilitation/mentoring new educators
A contribution to journal articles to Interaction and other relevant journals
An active contribution to NACE Inc. activities with proof of attending, or contributing to, Branch or National meetings
