This program runs for 30 hours over 5 days. The program is generally available in Sydney but is also offered in other States in response to need. Some of the topics covered by this course are: Program planning – designing courses for individuals and specific client groups, Facilitating not lecturing, Presenting difficult topics, Choosing and using teaching aids.

Pre-requisites for entry into program:

A thorough background knowledge of pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and maternity care is essential.

The course is not limited to midwives or physiotherapists, but assumes that participants will have considerable experience of childbearing and on-going involvement in maternity care at a professional level.

Qualifications obtained at end of the program:

Certificate of attendance.

30 CPD points from the Australian College of Midwives.
