South Australian 2011 Annual Report
We continue to be an enthusiastic group. This was evident by the number that made there way to Brisbane last October for the National conference. It was also a great opportunity for all the South Australian’s to get together.
We started the year with a dinner meeting instead of our usual end of year meeting. This was attended by 10 members and the years events were planned. It was good to start the year this way, however due to travel times; some members were unable to attend.
The first half of the year was used for planning our education workshop which we held in June. It was a great day with a focus on coping and coping mechanisms during labour, titled birthing with mind and body. The day proved to be a great time for not only learning and networking with old and new members.
It is great to welcome new members and look forward to more opportunities to get together. The group usually schedule meetings every two months and we have been moving our meeting locations. The meetings over the last year have been held at; Calvary Hospital, North Eastern Community Hospital and Burnside Hospital. These locations are central and have easy parking. Meeting are usually held during the late afternoon, but this is always open for change as we try and accommodate for as many members as possible. The problems of work commitments and travel make it harder for some members. Thank you to our members that make their institutions available for us.
The next meeting will be our AGM, scheduled for Monday 17th October 4pm at North Eastern Community Hospital. There will be a guest speaker so I would encourage all SA members to attend.
