South Australian February 2012 Report
Since my last report we here in SA held our AGM at North Eastern Hospital. The meeting was well attended and a big welcome to the new faces. We were lucky enough to have a presentation from Julie Fleet RM; she has been conducting a PHD on obstetric pain and analgesia. Julie shared with us her experiences of pain dynamics, tools and strategies for coping and her research on intramuscular Pethidine vs. Fentanly. Many thanks to her as some great discussion followed. As this was our AGM the following office bearers were elected:
President: Mary-ann Baker
Secretary: Jane Winnett
Treasure: Sue Bullus
State Rep: vacant
Committee Members: Robyn Davies, Delice Sauerwald, Lisa Masters
We have currently 23 members so hopefully by next report we have filled our state rep position.
The year was finished off with a dinner get together at the Hackney. A small number of us enjoyed a meal and chat.
This year we have had one meeting, which was held on 31st January at Calvary Hospital. This was a planning time and our meeting dates and locations for the year were set. We again will move locations throughout the year rotating between 4 different hospitals; this has proved beneficial in the past to allow different members to attend. We have also started planning our speakers and further education sessions so look forward to a good year and thanks to all involved for their efforts.
