Hello. My name is Melanie Cane and I am the Victorian Branch Representative for NACE.  I have been on the Vic Branch committee for a couple of years as the Branch Secretary and have now taken on this additional role.

With a background in birth and postnatal doula work, as well as being an ABA Breastfeeding Counsellor for many years, I am now an Independent Childbirth Educator, specialising as a calmbirth® practitioner.

I am passionate about educating, informing and supporting prospective or new parents around one of the most important stages in their life.  I love hearing  beautiful, joyous birth stories from parents who felt empowered, supported and free of fear when they welcomed their babies.  And nothing gives me greater pleasure than to see mums and dads connecting and enjoying their babies, and parenting with confidence.

My favourite saying is “Peace on Earth begins with birth”.
