West Australian 2011 Annual Report
The WA Branch now has 21 Members, a far cry from the 2-3 members I used to see in the Journal over the last 10 years. WA presents unique challenges with our members separated geographically by the same distances we travel to the East. For this reason WA has only a few active members able to participate in the committee to share the workload.
Despite this Committee is planning a study day for Friday the 20th January. The venue is yet to be confirmed (possibly Challenge Stadium). The program is still tentative. Once all these details are confirmed we will circulate a flyer to all Members. The flyer will especially be aimed at student midwives from our universities. We are also looking forward to a second study day in October to capture both intakes of new midwives.
The Branch AGM is to be held on Monday the 31st October via teleconference. Details of the conference and more importantly any committee vacancies will be circulated by E-Mail in the next few weeks. We would encourage all members to participate in the Committee to ensure that the Branch remains viable to support new educators.
