Professor Jason Trubiano, National Allergy Centre of Excellence (NACE) Drug Allergy Stream Co-chair, is leading a two-day Challenging Allergy: Drug Hypersensitivity Symposium 2023 in Melbourne this week.

Hosted by the Centre for Antibiotic Allergy and Research (Austin Health) and Doherty Institute, this hybrid event will feature experts in drug allergy from multiple disciplines, including dermatology, allergy, immunology, infectious diseases, and perioperative medicine.

The program will focus on antimicrobial allergy, perioperative allergy, vaccine allergy, and Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions (SCARs) relevant to a range of specialist physicians and pharmacists.

Professor Kirsten Perrett, NACE Director and Paediatric Allergist and Vaccinologist, is presenting on paediatric vaccine allergy: approaches to reimmunisation on Saturday 20 May. Dr Angela Young, NACE Programs and Partnerships Manager, will also join a roundtable discussion about the Australasian Registry of Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions (AUS-SCAR), including ideas for the future.
